1.1 This Privacy Policy describes how Auspex Labs Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects the personal information of users ("you" or "your") of the "Not a Bad Life" mobile application (the "App").

1.2 This App is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

1.4 By using the App, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Personally Identifiable Information:

2.1.1 Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and other information provided via OAuth authentication.

2.1.2 Contact Information: We may collect your email address if you contact us for support.

2.2.1 Journal Entries: We collect the text and any other content (images, etc., if applicable) you enter into your journal within the App. This is considered sensitive personal information.

2.2.2 Daily Metric: We collect your daily "good/bad" rating input.

2.3 Device and Usage Information:

2.3.1 Device Information: We collect information about the device you use to access the App, including the device model, operating system, and unique device identifiers.

2.3.2 Usage Data: We collect application-specific metrics about how you use the App, including features used and usage patterns. This does not include the content of your journal entries.

2.3.3 Log Data: Our servers automatically record information ("Log Data") created by your use of the App. Log Data may include information such as your IP address, operating system, device and application IDs.

2.4 Cookies and Similar Technologies:

2.4.1 We do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies within the App. Communication with the backend is handled via OAuth using TLS encrypted REST calls.

3. How We Use Your Information

3.1 Providing and Improving the App: To operate, maintain, and improve the App's functionality, features, and performance. This includes providing customer support and troubleshooting issues.

3.2 Communication: To communicate with you about the App, including sending you updates, notifications, and administrative messages.

3.3 Research and Development: To conduct research and analysis to understand how users interact with the App and to develop new features. This includes analyzing aggregated and anonymized usage data (excluding journal entry content).

3.4 Security: To protect the security and integrity of the App and our users.

3.5 Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests.

3.6 Government Requests: We will not provide your information to the government entities unless compelled to do so by a valid legal process, such as a court order or subpoena.

3.7 Daily Metric Usage: We use your individual "good/bad" metric internally. We also aggregate this metric (anonymously) with data from other users and may display this aggregated data on a public-facing dashboard. Your individual metric will not be publicly identifiable.

3.8 Application Metrics Usage: We use the application-specific usage metrics internally for improving the app and understanding user behavior. This data will not be shared with third parties.

3.9 Journal Data: Your journal data is stored securely and is _not_ used for any internal analysis, shared with any third parties, or sold. Its sole purpose is for your personal use within the App.

4. How We Share Your Information

4.1 With Your Consent: We will share your information with third parties only when we have your explicit consent to do so.

4.2 Service Providers: We use third-party services for hosting our backend systems. These service providers are contractually obligated to protect your information.

4.3 Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request, such as a subpoena, court order, or government investigation, and we will only do so when compelled.

4.5 Aggregated or Anonymized Data: We may share the aggregated and anonymized "good/bad" metric data publicly, as described in Section 3.7. This data will not be personally identifiable.

5.1 We take data security seriously and implement the following measures:

5.1.1 Encryption: Your data is encrypted both in transit (during communication between your device and our servers) and at rest (when stored on your device and on the systems operated by Auspex Labs).

5.1.2 Access Controls: Access to your information is restricted to authorized personnel who need it to perform their job duties.

5.1.3 Data Minimization: We collect only the information necessary for the App's functionality.

5.1.4 Regular Security Assessments: Security will be reviewed continuously, with formal assessments conducted monthly.

5.2 However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 Access: You can access your journal entries and daily metrics within the App.

6.2 Rectification: You can correct any inaccuracies in your journal entries directly within the App.

6.3 Erasure: There will be an option in the application settings to delete the data stored in the application. This will delete all journal and metric data. You may also contact us at ‘contact@auspex-labs.com’ to request deletion.

6.4 Data Portability: You have the right to receive a copy of your journal information, contact us at ‘contact@auspex-labs.com’ to obtain.

7. Children's Privacy

7.1 The App is not intended for children under the age of 13.

7.2 We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7.3 If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information.

7.4 Information collected by this application is not presented publicly.

8. International Data Transfers

8.1 Your information is stored and processed on services in the U.S. and operated by Auspex Labs Inc.

9.1 We may update this Privacy Policy.

9.2 We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App and/or by sending you an email.

9.3 Your continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
